Roy Winstanley Fine Art
Roy Winstanley is a professional fine artist living and working in Weymouth, Dorset. Following a successful career in Art education he moved from his native Yorkshire to the coastal area of Dorset in 1986. Actively involved in the visual arts he became the first chair of Dorset Art Week for 1992 and 1994. He lives by the sea in the gently rolling fields of Dorset and is a member of Wessex Contemporary Arts. He exhibits widely with work in public and private collections at home and abroad, and has shown with the Royal Watercolour Society, the Sunday Times Watercolour open, and was a prize winner in the John Laing National open.
He is inspired by the hills and deep valleys of Dorset often exploring the marks left by man on the ancient landscape.
Making work starts with the initial idea but develops into a dialogue with the painted surface, which more often than not helps to determine the final outcome. His home and studio are set in beautiful landscape, close to the world heritage coastline, please call to arrange a visit or to discuss a commission.
